The Prediction Wizard assists you in creating and using neural networks in predicting the future value of a price or an indicator. It makes it easy to select inputs and train the net so that you do not have to be a Ph.D. to effectively use neural networks.

The neural net called Turboprop 2 used in the Prediction Wizard was especially developed for financial trading.  It is not a neural network originally developed for other types of applications.  Specifically, it knows how to extrapolate so it can be used in rising markets.  Turboprop 2 also has mechanisms to help prevent overfitting.   Also, Turboprop 2 has no parameters whatsoever to tweak to make the net run, and therefore it needs no time consuming genetic algorithm to configure it. No need to be a neural network expert; inserting a neural network prediction is as easy as inserting an indicator.

The NeuroShell Trader Professional includes a genetic algorithm optimizer which you may use to find the best indicators, the best parameters for the indicators you choose, or a combination of the two.

The Prediction Wizard allows you to include indicators, data and calculations from you chart, and other data (such as foreign exchange rates) as inputs to your model.  The NeuroShell Trader Professional gives you the additional capability of using a genetic algorithm optimization to find the best inputs and the best parameters for the inputs (such as the optimal time periods for crossover moving averages).

You can customize how the model is trained, including setting the time periods for out-of-sample testing.  You can also vary the training objective by choosing from among many types of profit or error reduction methods.

The result of the Prediction Wizard is a chart that displays buy/sell signals based on your model. This is a simplified trading strategy, but you can put your neural net into a full trading strategy if you desire. That way, you can build hybrid strategies with both neural nets and rules.
