Description
The Sine indicator is a noncausal filter (does not directly depend on data) that helps anticipate cyclic turning points. The assumption is that the market has a short term coherency in the cycle mode so that the cyclic move will continue a short time into the future. The phase of the dominant cycle is measured and the Sine of this phase angle is plotted. It is intended that the Sine indicator and SineLead indicator are dragged to the same subgraph so their line crossings are a definitive indication of the anticipated cyclic turning point. A buy indication occurs when the SineLead indicator crosses over the Sine indicator. A sell indication occurs when the SineLead indicator crosses under the Sine indicator. The Tune parameter adjusts the dominant cycle period relative to its measured value. The Delta parameter is the bandwidth of a bandpass filter in terms of +/- percent of the center period. A smaller number gives a narrower bandwidth to eliminate extraneous cycle components and a larger number give a wider bandwidth to improve responsiveness to transients.
